Nailing it is about finally getting it right with God, but what is right?
Right is being in a right relationship with God. Not your performance, being pretty, nor perfect.
Nailing it is about knowing God loves you no matter what, God does not hate you.
Jesus wants you to have a full abundant life through faith. (John 3:16-17)
Not your performance
Our creator gave us a checklist of what our performance should be, the 10 commandments. These commandments were to be our teacher between right and wrong. They are the moral code. Even if you do not know the commands when someone lies to you, it feels and is wrong. Have you ever lied? Has anyone stolen from you? Again it is wrong and it feels wrong. Have you ever looked at another person or their possessions and lusted after them? If you have done any of these you have broken the commands. You have not lived up to the standard required by a Holy God, nor can we ever live up to it, so God gave another way.
Not being pretty
Your actions speak loud, we are not always behaving as we should and we know when that is. Our actions may show 1 thing but our heart is in the wrong place, through wrong thinking or wrong motives. Eventually, our actions will show the true motives of our hearts. At times we judge ourselves by our motives and others by their actions. God is a righteous Judge and He has to judge our motives because He sees and knows our hearts. So the heart is deceptive and we cannot trust it, so He gave another way.
Not being perfect
Being good is not good enough, doing the right actions with the right thoughts and motives is not enough. Being good does not bring happiness nor peace. We cannot be perfect enough to enter into God’s perfectness. There is not enough good that you can do to secure what happens after you die. God is good, and only God. So God gave another way.
So what is the answer?
Jesus is the answer, only Jesus. Trusting Jesus and His sacrifice as being the way to eternal life, we receive freedoms through Him. (John 8:36) We cannot achieve security about what happens when we die from trying to be morally right. Jesus paid the fine for all the sins we do intentionally and unintentionally.
When we trust and confess what Jesus did, God accepts us.
Accepting Jesus as Lord, we get His righteousness, therefore, receiving eternal life. Jesus paid the fine for our eternal judgment for not having the performance, acting pretty, or being perfect. Grace (Ephesians 4:7) is receiving freedom and Gods willingness to use His power and ability on our behalf, something we do not deserve. Mercy is not getting hell, which we do deserve, because of not being right with God. When we make Him Lord, we are immediately accepted and made a child of God. We get to know Him (reading your bible), and out of desire, we allow God to work in us, not out of duty.
How do we live out what we read…
Believe God because He is trust worthy.
HE
– loves you more than you can think or imagine
– wants to show you mercy
– wants you to have Grace
When we receive the gift of freedom that Jesus is offering, seeing who He is, what He did and is doing, we live in freedom. The Holy Spirit is then planted in us to guide us, give us power and help us walk in humble obedience with God through life.
How do you receive this gift?
Believe that Jesus died, because it is the shedding of blood that is the payment for sin. Jesus is perfect, and His perfection covers our payment for sin. His resurrection was proof that He is God and when he rose He gave us that resurrected life; no longer should we fear.
Then because we accept what Jesus did the Holy Spirit then lives in us. (Acts 4:31)
Father, I pray that whoever is reading this, the truth of what is being said sinks in as a gift. Not as judgment but as a life preserver. No matter where they are in life, or what they identify as, Your love for them will overtake them. Changing their thoughts about who is Lord in their life and turn to agree with You, and trust in Jesus for life eternal, forgiveness from sin, and restoration with God. Knowing you, and wanting to be a reflection of you to this world. They will know Your great mercy You have for them by sending Jesus, who gives grace through His sacrifice which will be known and understood.
